Does your fear of abandonment take control of your life sometimes?
𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗗𝗢 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗟 𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞?
Do you want to react and make decisions, not from fear, but from love?
Do you want to act – and react – in deep alignment with who you truly are?
That’s all I ever wanted. But for most of my life, I let my fear of abandonment dictate almost everything I did, felt, and said.
It went on like that, until I discovered that our fears, just like our inner child or inner critic, have their own thoughts, feelings, needs, wants, and purpose for being here.
And a way to calm these fears is to validate them, understand them, love them, tell them what they need to hear, and set some boundaries for them, so that they don’t control our lives (as if they are our own children).
With that in mind, I wrote this daily prayer for one of my clients – and with her permission – I am offering it here for you.
I invite you to print it out, and say it out loud to yourself, as often as needed:
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗥 𝗢𝗙 𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗣𝗥𝗔𝗬𝗘𝗥
Thank you so, so much, fear of abandonment, for trying to protect me. For trying to keep me safe. For trying to make sure I’m not betrayed again. For caring about me so much.
I completely understand why you’ve been protecting me in this way. I understand why you feel insecure, worried, and stuck.
I know it must be hard to carry all this heaviness for me.
But I’m here now, and I can take over for you.
I want to hold and process all these fears and feelings in a more constructive way from now on.
And I want you to know, that you and I will never be alone, for we are forever connected to the divine.
And I have complete certainty that everything will always work out in the exact way it’s meant to, so I promise, there’s really nothing to worry about.
The truth is, it doesn’t matter if someone else chooses me because I CHOOSE MYSELF.
And I want you to know that real security comes from stepping into my higher self, from inside me, not from external sources, so let’s not focus on another person to provide that any longer.
I appreciate and love you so much for trying to help me, but from this point on, I will be in charge.
I made you a beautiful home in my pinky toe and that’s where you will live. It’s a pinky toe home I made just for you.
And when I have decisions to make, you are welcome to speak your mind in the throne room of my heart. And I will always listen to your thoughts and fears, I promise.
I will never abandon you.
I will always be here for you.
You will never be alone again.
Thank you thank you thank you.
